New page reviewer

(add requestview requests)

I have been editing Wikipedia for a while now and have a good knowledge regarding Wikipedia notability criteria and deletion policy. I would like to request new page reviewer rights to help review new pages. Thank You Aoyoigian (talk) 06:02, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for offering to help in this way, Aoyoigian. Looking at your talk page raised a question for me: is there a reason you have not replied to the messages there? I couldn't find your replies elsewhere, but I may have missed them. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 22:38, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hold this nomination for now, please. MER-C 04:00, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am requesting New Page Reviewer rights on Wikipedia. I believe that I have built a strong foundation and understanding of the requirements necessary for mainspace articles, shown through my created, active articles, draft articles, and contributions to them. As new page reviewer I'd like to apply this knowledge towards newly created articles and suggest any improvements when necessary. HeinzMaster (talk) 04:24, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@HeinzMaster: You were previously granted NPP for a one month trial last year. How did that go? Is there a particular reason you waited until now to reapply? – Joe (talk) 14:18, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think it went well, only issue was I allowed some copyrighted content since I was under the impression that it was an automatic process for detection. However, I have since then become familiar with Copyvio Detector, hence I will check any new pages to be reviewed with that tool before undergoing any decisions. My one month probie period expired, but I would like to continue chipping away at the backlog, and hopefully increase my paricipation. Pyrrho the Skipper (talk) 15:12, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I recently graduated from NPP School with User:Atsme as my trainer. I have had my account for over 90 days, have over 500 mainspace edits, and have participated in a handful of AfDs. I currently have Pending Changes Reviewer permissions and have enjoyed the work I've been doing there. I am requesting New Page Reviewer permissions so I can help address the backlog of pages that need to be reviewed. If there are any questions I'm more than willing to answer them. Thank you for this opportunity and for taking the time to review my request. Dr vulpes (💬📝) 17:58, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'd like to help out with the new page review backlog. I am currently an AFC reviwer, I am a page mover and frequently close requested move discussions, and I help out with vandalism patrolling as well. I've read through the reviewing tutorial, deletion policy, and general notability guideline already. Thanks! 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 23:43, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thank you for volunteering. – Joe (talk) 14:08, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Interested in driving the backlog down. I'd start with approving well-referenced articles in areas I'm familiar with. Nardog (talk) 00:02, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thank you for volunteering. – Joe (talk) 14:09, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am contributing Wikipedia for about 8 months. I have now quite good knowledge about Guidelines of Wikipedia and now I understand that which page should be accepted and which not. I am genuinely improved Wikipedia by reverting vandalisms. I always prefer to discuss instead of an edit war. Thanks Grabup (talk) 02:42, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was granted the patroller right for a month as a trial run, during which I familiarised myself with the NPP process. If re-granted, I plan to increase the number of average pages I review. Thanks, Liamyangll (talk to me!) 03:19, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You've only marked one page as reviewed this month: Lóránd Pászka, an unsourced BLP. Are you happy with that? Could you give any other examples of articles you reviewed during your trial period, and what you decided to do with them? – Joe (talk) 14:11, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Joe Roe, I'm not sure why they're not appearing, but I reviewed at least two others. I marked Lado Chachanidze as patrolled and also did extensive work to it. I also reviewed SimplePlanes VR and proposed it for deletion before another editor redirected it to SimplePlanes. I understand I'm not the most active and that I have made a few mistakes along the way, but I'd be grateful to have the permission again (even as probationary if need be) to improve. Thanks, Liamyangll (talk to me!) 01:57, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good work on Chachanidze (though don't feel you have to put that much effort into each article you review). But you really shouldn't be letting unsourced BLPs through—use {{BLP PROD}} or move to draft—and redirecting is an WP:ATD you should have considered yourself. I'll extend your trial period for another month. Please do try to do a few more reviews this time: it's not that you have to do lots and lots (we're all volunteers here), but that we need a decent sample to get an accurate picture of your work. I think it will also help you get more comfortable with the workflow. Thank you for helping out.  Done. – Joe (talk) 14:39, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am requesting New Page Reviewer rights on Wikipedia. I noticed that there is a backlog of 13,000. I'd like to help clear the backlog of unreviewed pages. Thank you for your consideration. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 09:20, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Thank you for offering to help with the backlog but I'm afraid that, considering your recent issues with copyright violations, I'm not convinced you're familiar enough with our content policies to be reviewing others' articles just yet. – Joe (talk) 14:16, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Joe Roe Thanks for considering my request. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 14:20, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I recently recieved a talk page message inviting me to do this from HouseBlaster, but I've been thinking about this for awhile. My request may be a bit premature since I only recently became an AfC reviewer. If anyone thinks I need more experience doing that before this, I have no problems waiting. I have slowly been going through NPP school and it's likely the best way of demonstrating what I know about notability [1]. I have limited experience with AfDs, I've only contributed to ~30 AfDs since 2019. I'm aware that the process is different from AfC, but I'd approach New Page Patrolling cautiously as well. Clovermoss (talk) 01:20, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done – you're clearly well-qualified and selling yourself short here, Clovermoss. Welcome aboard. – Joe (talk) 14:16, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I currently have the pending changes reviewer right and I have recently started a lot of anti-vandalism work. I would like to have the New Page Reviewer right as I feel that I now have enough knowledge about how wikipedia works now and I would like to help reduce the backlog.  Hamza Ali Shah  Talk 03:10, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your edits and for your interest in this permission. However, I'm concerned by a recent AfC decline you received for Draft:Suleman Raza, and thus do not think that it would be appropriate to confer NPR at this time.  Not done for now. signed, Rosguill talk 16:54, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I keep hearing about the backlog, and I’d like to help out. I’m a pending changes reviewer and rollbacker, and I’ve done a small handful of AfDs and CSD taggings. I hope I am eligible to help out. CollectiveSolidarity (talk) 21:55, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
